About the Role
This role is a fantastic opportunity to work in a data centric business.
This role requires an SQL savvy analyst to join our small, friendly Finance team based in central Nottingham. We work with new energy businesses to help them run and manage their Energy supply operation by providing a bureau style financial reporting and business advisory service. To be clear though, we are a data business. That’s our bag, and you’ll be engaged in complex data analysis, manipulation and reporting.
Day to Day Responsibilities
In this role you would work with 3 or 4 of our clients to do provide standard monthly reporting for gross margin, revenue and cost, amongst a range of other metrics. You would also work on more wide-ranging consultancy style projects for the clients, based around reporting. This might include analysing process improvements, working on ad hoc reports, analysing regulatory information and, more generally, giving the clients insights into the real performance of their business.
SQL is the key tool here though we are in the process of moving our teams into a more advanced analytical world with the use of Metabase and its more visual analytics approach. We’ll be training up our analytics teams on this and other new tech as we develop the analytics product line.
And from you we’ll need SQL skills to an intermediate level. There will be daily SQL usage and you will need to be a reasonably advanced user, ideally. That said, we would look at those with ‘some’ decent hands on knowledge.
Very XL savvy. A real strong point for any candidate.
Experience of financial reporting – gross margin, cost, revenue etc.
A very high attention to detail.
Ideally some experience dealing with customers by email, phone and face to face.
Very much delivery focused and able to prioritise to get the immediate and important jobs done.
Used to working to tight deadlines
