This role is a heady combination of technical, project and people leadership.
It represents an opportunity to hold a lead role amongst a team of highly skilled developers, working in a truly agile way, to develop market leading software. You will be working with leading edge tech, in a red tape free environment and with people who are fun, interesting and motivated.
Fundamentally, as the lead developer for your product line, you will be THE technical, go to person. You’ll determine the how and who for yourself and your team.
Your day to day contact will be the CTO, the product owner, business analysts, project managers, test analysts and of course your own team of top draw Devs.
Day to Day Responsibilities
You will lead, motivate, organise and drive forward a small team of developers and co-ordinate the broader coalition of multi-disciplined staff. The direct team will typically include 3-5 developers with a good mix of experienced talent and developing talent.
You will be the main point of contact for any matters relating to software development in your product area. So, you’ll be coding, designing and developing our architecture.
You will manage an agile team, including running daily stand ups with the product owner, monitoring sprint progress and ensuring on time, quality delivery.
It’s an old cliché but you will consider yourself a people person, as relationship building is very important. Working with and through others is key.
You’d need to be a proper self-starter. We trust people to get on with their jobs and don’t over manage them.
We aren’t overly corporate either, so you’ll need to get your hands dirty and get stuck in.
You’ll bring Significant experience in our key skill sets like .net C#, web api, node js, angular js/angular 2 and SQL.
Technically up to date, familiar with microservices, cloud computing and modern software development techniques.
With a thorough understanding SOLID principles, clean code and good coding practice.
Previous experience managing a small team, providing day to day guidance, support and mentoring.
You’ll need to be able to work, on occasion, with ambiguity. Sometimes it’s is not always clear how to proceed. Generating options, finding a great solution and then taking responsibility for making it happen is something you will enjoy.
Comfortable with true agile development, where iterative changes are gradually but consistently applied and where the Rolls Royce solution is not always an option.
Good sense of humour combined with a friendly and communicative style. Like everyone else here!
